Used Cleaning Technology:     Downhole equipment cleaning (rod string and tubing) with DIR-X down the tubing (interrupted production – unseated pump)

 Over the years 2008 to 2021 were cleaned 10 wells.

Wells Parameters

Wells: depth 1700 – 1800 m, reservoir temperature 48°C, pump setting depths 1200-1400 m, there were a problem with paraffin deposits

Standard cleaning method (3 – 5 day workover / Intervention): pull the sucker rod pump and tubing out of the hole, cleaning with the steam from paraffin / asphaltene at the surface, casing cleaning with the scraper and hot oiling.

 

 

Cleaning process – Heating up the production tubing, subsurface rod pump and rod string

Mixture quantity: 2,4 m³

Cleaning time: 3 hours

 

Dewaxing the downhole completion (subsurface rod pump, rod string and production tubing) with the use of Termo-U.

Process:

• unseat the pump,
• check the pump unseating with the oil circulation down the tubing,
• pump the Termo-U / 2,4 m³ /  down the tubing,
• after the reaction brake  / 10 minutes / , pump 3 m³ of oil down the tubing to wash out the spent Termo-U with melted asphaltene/paraffin to the annulus,
• seat the pump and put the pumping unit into the operation

 

Result of Cleaning

Circulation pressure after cleaning was much lower. After 3 hours well cleaning by TERMO-U system, was well production restored to designed Capacity and Nominal Operation conditions in very short time and with lower costs.
